Along this edge make a row of 10 rings:
R: 4-4-4-4(joining to preceding ring by 1st picot, joining to the chain at the base and missing 5 stitches of chain between, or a sufficient number to make the rings lie flat and smooth)
For the 2nd row of rings, fasten thread in picot which joins 1st 2 rings of last row:
R: 4+(to middle p of 1st R)4-4+(to middle p of 2nd R)4, clr, joining to picot where you started.
Draw thread carefully across to the picot joining next 2 ings, and repeat, making 9 rings. This completes the flap.
The chains, about two and one half inches long, are fastened to 2nd ring of 1st and last cloverleaves at each side of top, and to the chains between, passing through the rings of 1st row of flap, missing the 2 center rings, and being joined to the ivory ring above, as directed.
