I entered this angel tree topper in the Illinois State Fair in August of 1998 and won first place in its class and best of show in its category(up against weaving and rug hooking). It is a design that I created. It was a Christmas present to my wife. I use DMC Cebelia cotton, size 10 in offwhite for the dress. This diamond inserts of the skirt part and the halo and wings are done in DMC gold metallic thread. The gold metalic thread is stiff enough when tatting, that I did not have to use a stiffening agent. Plus I tatted over a wire to help the wings keep their shape.
